Mission Statement

Times are changing, a new president has entered office, the economy is in turmoil, and the one thing that we have always been able to rely on is in turmoil: The Diplomats. Dipset is one of the greatest movements of our generation, rejecting the ridiculous posturing by many rappers and embracing their music while ignoring the critics. Cam'ron didn't listen when they said rappers couldn't wear pink, his rhymes were (and still are) unconventional but his music spoke to you in a way that ringtone rappers never could. Juelz proved that you can have a hit album without following a formula, mixing old school sampleswith true gangster rap beats. Jim Jones spearheaded a Dipset Xmas and A Skullgang Christmas, two instant holiday classics.

No other rap group had the confidence to include comedians (Kat Williams) and skaters (DipSkate). They rejected the fake gangster posturing of other popular rap groups at the time and ran with their own style. Unlike others, the Diplomats represented hope for rap, hope that an artist's success wouldn't be based off of how many ringtones he sold or energy drinks he sponsored but off his talent and the talent around him. However, this hope has begun to fade as more news of intragroup squabbles surfaces. Though all members agree that Dipset still exists, it appears to be on thin ice. As fans of rap, this cannot be allowed to happen. The "beef" between Cam'ron and Jim Jones must be squashed while Cam and Juelz must come to terms over the control of Santana's music.

This blog hopes to be the spark that ignites this musical reunion. It will be kept updated with the latest news on Dipset and its members. Anyone who believes in the movement is encouraged to contribute through the comments and is welcome to provide links to relevant information.

As always, stay, Down With The Set
